Thailand is a country that many men will travel to in search of some quality time with a beautiful girl, what a lot of westerners fail to realise is that these girls are doing their job and as with all jobs they have rules they try to follow. Bar Girl Commandments

1) When looking for potential customers on a Friday or Saturday night, it is very important to ensure you pick your customer correctly. Thailand is full of Western English teachers who do not earn a lot of money, so would not be willing to part with a lot of money. It is best to try and find a farang wearing smart clothes, with dress shoes. Western English Teachers in Thailand generally wear suits and sneakers to work - they are not generally paid a lot of money in Thailand so they will usually be unwilling to party with a lot of money.

2) When you are with a customer, you need to forget or not worry if he is over weight, very ugly or smells very bad, even if the farang can tell you are not comfortable with him you must always tell me that he is handsome and that he makes you happy. It is important to remember that once he has paid the bar, the rest is easy.

3) When a customer leave's Thailand, that is not the end of your work with them. It is crucial to get your customers e-mail address's and keep in contact with them while they are back in their home country, this will make it easier for you to get the customer again when he returns to Thailand. Having customer's e-mail address's also means that you can request money from the farang while they are at home. Most farang have soft hearts, and are happy to part with some of there money if they believe it will be helping someone. A good way to ask for money is to say you have a sick buffalo, failing that your mother/father been sick or been pregnant is the best way to ask for money.

4) Farangs are very soft, and tears from the eyes make them even softer! It is important to be able to cry on queue, this will give you a much better chance at getting more money or presents from the Farang. Thai Girls need to be pro at producing crocodile tears.

5) If you get a customer for longer then 2 nights, you need to request he take you shopping. Gold is a excellent item to look at getting, it will make the customer happy to see you wear it while you are in Thailand and once he leaves you will be able to pawn that item for more money. Should the farang intend to return to Thailand, it is smart to make sure you do not pawn all his items.

6) If you are working, and there are local expats in the bar it is important to ensure you speak in your local dialect. Many farangs can now speak Thai which can make work harder for us, it is important that our local and regional dialects remain just for Thai people.

7) When your customer is leaving Thailand, go to the airport with him. Most times a farang will have thousands of baht left over from there trip that they did not use, most times the farang will be happy to give it to you as he has no use for this money in his home country. When you are saying good bye, remember to cry and get his e-mail address as you will be able to convince him to return to Thailand in the future.

8) It can be better to get Asian customers, they understand our love to gamble and that we have many brothers and sisters at home who need to eat, they will generally pay you more then a farang will (Japanese are known to pay very well)

9) When leaving your customers hotel, ask for Taxi Money! It does not matter if you live next door, this will help you obtain another 200-300 baht very easily. He the farang complains about paying your taxi fare, remember the crying on queue as this will be your ticket for more money. Explain you live very far away and it is dangerous to walk.

10) If you are not making money in your chosen town, it may be time to move to another town. Phuket, Pattaya and Bangkok are the best choices to find farangs with money.

What is a Thai Tourist Visa?

It is stamped on your passport upon arrival at the airport in Thailand, or it can be obtained in your home country through the Thai embassy or consulate located there. The tourist visa can also be extended if necessary. There are certain countries that made agreements with the government of Thailand so their citizens can benefit from the Thai visa exemption when entering Thailand as tourists.

Requirements for a Tourist Visa

When applying for a tourist visa for Thailand, certain documents and fees are needed to obtain one. The documents and the fee are subject to change anytime and without prior notice, so it would be a good idea for an aspiring tourist to inquire for the right information before flying off to Thailand.

Documents Required:

1. Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months 2. Visa application form (filled out) 3. One (1) recent 4x6cm. photograph of the applicant 4. Roundtrip air ticket or e-ticket (paid in full) 5. Proof of financial means (20,000 baht per person/40,000 baht per family)

Don't forget that Thai consular officers reserve the rights to request for additional documents when they deemed it necessary, so it is advisable that you present yourself when you're in a good shape and state, together with your papers and documents. Visa Fee: US $ 30.00 per entry or equivalent. The tourist visa fee is subject to change without the prior notice, so it is a good idea to be updated by visiting the nearest Thai Embassy or consulate in your area, or by visiting the Thai Embassy website for online updates.

Validity of the Thai Visa

The validity of a Thai tourist visa ranges from 15 days to 60 days, depending your nationality. Applicants from USA, UK, and Australia will receive a 60 day Thai Tourist Visa from their Thai Embassies.

Visa Exemption Rule (No Thai Visa)

If you arrived on Thailand through an international airport, you will have permission to stay 30 days (depending on whether your country made a bilateral agreement on visa exemption with Thailand.) If you enter Thailand via land border, you will be stamped a 15 day permission of stay in Thailand as a tourist at the immigration post, after which you will have to exit the country again on or before the expiration of your permission of stay. However, the tourist visa can also be extended if you wish or need to stay longer in Thailand. You will have to file an application for an extension of stay at the Office of Thai Immigration Bureau located at Soi Suan Plu, off South Sathorn Road, Bangkok 10120. Bear in mind that the success for an extension of stay is solely at the discretion of the immigration officer attending to your application.

In summary, Thailand Tourist Visas can be obtained for up to 60 days of travel in the Kingdom. This can be extended an additional 30 days at the Thai Immigration office. It is important to remember to apply for the Thai Visa prior to your departure to Thailand.

By Bus - If you wish to go Chiang Mai and you are currently in Bangkok, the bus might also be a viable transport option. The duration of the journey depends on how much you are willing to pay. The government buses offer their tickets at the lowest price; however, these are non-air-conditioned buses which make numerous stops along the way, and take roughly twelve hours to reach Chiang Mai. The more prestigious bus services will take around nine hours; however, the prices of such tickets are much higher. Buses to Chiang Mai from Bangkok generally depart from the Northern Bus Terminal, otherwise known as Moh Chit.

There are also buses connecting many parts of Northern and North-eastern Thailand to Chiang Mai.

By Train - Train travel is only an option if you are going to Chiang Mai from Bangkok. All such trains leave from the Hualamphong Train Station. The duration of the journey depends on the type of train service you have selected - there are daytime trains, overnight trains and express trains. Prices vary accordingly, and you are strongly urged to make advance bookings. The train will drop you off at Chiang Mai Train Station, which is quite close to the city centre.

In Morocco there are 16,000 miles of paved roads and only a small number of these are used by drivers making it perfect for riding. Things to watch out for:

* Cycling around city centres.

Be careful when cycling around congested areas such as Marrakesh or Casablanca where there are lots of cars. Cycling around the busy streets of Morocco isn't the easiest thing as drivers are not used to sharing the roads with cyclists.

* Take care of your belongings.

Thefts and scams have been reported in Morocco especially in the busy marketplaces. Most of the population is helpful, hospitable and honest, however, just like any country it's wise to keep an eye on your belongings and not go around flashing expensive items like cameras or money.

* Women cyclists

Morocco is an Islamic country so be modest in what you wear. No short skirts, shorts or tank tops. Wear a bikini or swimsuit only at a pool or on a beach. You could attract attention regardless of what you wear, but if you dress provocatively the attention can be a lot worse.

Atlantic Coast Region:

The Atlantic Coast Region is a good choice for cyclists all year round. This region has a relatively mild climate meaning it's perfect for cycling no matter when you visit Morocco.

There is a great road which winds all around the South coast of Casablanca, then Safi, Essaouira and Agadir.

There are also other roads which are not as heavily travelled including the Fez - Marrakesh roads which head all the way to the Atlantic. There are also 6 or 7 routes to Casablanca alone. The best cycling can be found on the routes that offer the least direct access to the big cities.

Rif Mountain Region:

The Rif Mountain region includes the routes from Tetouan to Oujda and Melilla and also the mountain range which goes to the South. The Rif Mountain region is famous for hashish production and therefore you are likely to be harassed by hashish sellers. The police around this area are also very suspicious of foreigners so even though this area is extremely beautiful, it is not recommended for cycling.

Atlas Mountains:

The Atlas Mountains (which are made up of the Moyen Atlas (Middle Atlas), the Haut Atlas (High Atlas) and the Anti Atlas) is an amazing place to ride as the scenery is spectacular and beautiful. However, this is a route that only the experienced cyclist should partake as the routes are jagged and tough to ride. The Atlas Mountains has passes well over 2000m (about 6500 feet) and these routes are often shadowed by fog and therefore the visibly around these areas is dramatically reduced. If you are up for a challenge, cycling around this area is definitely worth cycling around as it offers some very diverse, exciting and astounding views and loops.

Inland Desert:

This area does not have that many roads, but it is a rewarding place to go cycling. This is because there is a sparse population in this area and they have not seen so many tourist so they offer a more natural and genuine hospitality. If you cycle from Midelt to Marrakesh you will pass some spiritual routes and this area is also quite scenic too. Bring enough water and food though, as services in this area are quite limited and be aware that temperatures in this area can go up to 40oC (104oF) in the hotter months.

Western Sahara:

For decades this was a military zone which is gradually opening up again now for travel now that peace agreements have been signed. The area is home to thousands of unexploded mines and explosions have been known to happen which have caused death and injuries. Travel around this area remains heavily restricted and persons wishing to travel around this area have to obtain information from the Moroccan Embassy regarding clearance requirements.

Summary:

Morocco offers such a wide range of routes, some for the adventurous and some for the not so adventurous. If you have four weeks to spend in Morocco and you would like a challenge the there is a nice loop that you can cycle which goes around the midsection of the country. This route will take you to mountains, plains, beaches, surf, and sand. There are many variations of this route which can be done but the most common one is: Casablanca - Meknes - Midelt - Dade's Valley - Ouarzazate - Marrakesh - Safi - Casablanca.

If you are looking for an easier cycling experience on your Morocco adventure tour, maybe because you are not so confident on a bike or you are travelling with children, then it's best to stay in the regions near the Atlantic coast as these routes are relatively flat.

Follow the Berber trail through Atlas mountain villages, sleep in Sahara desert tents and traditional riads, explore imperial cities, munch couscous in the souqs, and take it easy on the beaches of Agadir. We'll help you build your own Morocco adventure.

Safari Travel

Certainly something for the bucket list! Going on safari has to be a real treat for the senses. Everyday you wake and jump on that Game viewer, heading off on another action packed adventure into the African Bush. I've been there and done it, and all I can say is - definitely a good life experience.

Just imagine how you would feel when you stop and have a herd of elephant walk past the vehicle literally an arms length from you - so close you can smell them, and see every large body hair, and best of all make that trans-species eye contact which always puts one onto a high afterwards. Of course, at the time you would probably be holding your breath trying to melt into the frame of the Landrover for fear of being overly-intrusive towards the Pachyderms trundling past. But I highly recommend it - even at the expense of having to change your underwear!

One visit to Africa can literally change a person - it must be that primal link we have with the natural world which gets us tingling when confronted with nature in its raw form. Seeing a group of white rhino as you emerge from the grass into a clearing whilst on foot brings perspective into one's life - we are just another of the many species on Earth, although admittedly, somewhat higher up on the ladder. Pedantics aside, when you find yourself in close proximity to a group of White rhino, you just somehow know your place - smart, but vulnerable. And using your wits is what puts you ahead of the game. Generally though, White rhino are a little more docile than their cousins, the Black rhino. So that close encounter in the clearing, if approached correctly, can bring a real sense of awesome wonder and enjoyment when seeing a group of animals that resemble something out of the dinosaur age.

And in the evening when you're sitting around the fire recalling the days' events, that beer will taste real good!

Backpacking in Thailand - The Best Gear to Travel With

What is the best gear to travel with if you're planning to backpack through Thailand (or travel on a budget)? Well, it depends of course on where you're heading. If you go north, then pack for cool nights and mountain climbing. If you head south, then prepare for magnificent ocean adventures.

Firstly, if your plans include Chiang Mai or north then keep in mind it gets kind of chilly and you'll need warm gear and the right kit (ie. strong walk boots) for doing some trekking or exploring. However if you're going to hit the oceans on your Thai journey, then let's look at what you'll need.

OK, first up, the ever trusty waterproof 'sea' bag. These colorful little creatures will save your bacon in more ways than one, especially if you're a water baby and you love to be immersed in the sea all day. With your essential belongings safely enclosed in one of these you can explore ANY remote beach and still pull out a camera to capture the fun. An essential piece of ocean travel kit.

Next up is the go-anywhere sea sandals. You know the type - they embrace your feet and let you walk on sharp rocks and swim without worrying about what's down there. Then wear them down the street to get your Pad Thai. A good quality pair of these will last you forever and are essential for a good and safe Thailand adventure.

You'll need a quality jacket too, for the odd storm that steals in out of nowhere. Heaps of choices available, so get something that's lightweight and strong that'll cope with the wear and tear of being stuffed in your backpack and used frequently. It's Thailand, so it won't need to be too warm. In fact, the more breathable, the better.

Well, that's it in a nutshell. There's other gear that'll you want to bring but having those three pieces of kit will keep a smile on your face as you backpack through Thailand and have the adventure of your life!

Tiger Temple In Thailand

How would it feel if you are allowed to see and touch a full grown tiger which is out of its cage? I am sure it would be an exciting experience. If you really want to experience this then all you have to do is plan a trip to Thailand.

The Theravada Buddhist temple is located Saiyok of Thailand and is a unique temple where one will find a numerous wild animals and among them is the majestic tiger. The temple is also known as Tiger Temple because of its tigers.

The Tiger Temple is located near the most famous tourist spot the - Bridge Over the River Kwai. The temple is formally known as Wat Pa Luangta Bua Yannasampanno in Thai language. From 1999 the monks are engaged in taming tigers and all this started when an abandoned tiger cub was found in the nearby forests by villagers who gave the cub to the monks to take care of it. As the news spread, many people started bringing orphaned cubs to the temple. Most cubs had lost their mother to poachers and were too young to fend for themselves. Presently there 18 cubs in the temple.

Every evening the tigers are let out of their cages and taken to a quarry where there is a natural pool in which the tigers have their bath and play. The tigers are fed dry cat food and boiled chicken. The monks take utmost care to ensure that the tigers do not taste blood through any food. As the tigers are pretty tamed, visitors visiting them temple can see them from a close distance. At times, they are also allowed to pet and touch the tigers. The visitors leave donations and this is what the monks use to feed the tigers.

In the Tiger Temple, one can see that even tigers have learned to follow the Buddhist way of life.
